Two-factor authentication

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication is an additional layer of security that requires not only a password and username but also something additional that proves the identity of the user. Rizikon Assurance uses Google Authenticator for two-factor authentication. Google Authenticator generates two-step verification codes on your phone or mobile device.

This two step verification provides stronger security for your Rizikon account by requiring an additional step of verification when you sign in. In addition to your user name and password, you will also need a code generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone.

Visit the link below to download the app for Google Play and iTunes.

How to setup two-factor authentication?

1. Login to your Rizikon account, and select “Two-factor Authentication” from the dropdown menu located in the top right of the screen.

2. Click the “Configure two-factor authentication” and then use the Google Authenticator app to scan the barcode shown on the screen. Doing this will add your Rizikon account to the Google Authenticator app.

The code within Google Authenticator will then refresh with a new code every 30 seconds. Simply enter the code currently displayed on your device and then press ‘Enable two-factor authentication’’, your Google Authenticator Setup should now be successful. Ensure that when entering your two-factor authentication code to use no spaces between digits.

Troubleshooting two-factor authentication

The most common cause for two-factor failures is that the clock on your phone or mobile device has wavered. There is a 30 second window for two-factor confirmations, so if your clock has wavered outside of this you will not be able to login. Please ensure your phone is configured to sync with the cellular network.

For more details on on troubleshooting, please see the Google Authenticator product page:
